A great introduction to
Singapore food & hawker culture

We had a great time with our guide James. He led a fun tour of Singapore street food places and mixed in some thoughtful insight on Singapore culture and history. We sampled food and snacks from busy hawker centers that we otherwise would not have known.

We also visited a Michelin starred chicken rice restaurant and sampled local coffee. Come hungry, as you will sample enough food to make for a heavy lunch! Also the small group is a perfect opportunity to meet other travellers - our group had 7 of us and it was an intimate experience with new friends.

A very worthwhile experience if you are new to Singapore. I would recommend this tour highly.

Perfect introduction if you are new to Singapore

We had an amazing time on our walking tour with Mr. Bas who was very informative, friendly and helpful! We visited Michelin Bib Gourmand hawkers and food stalls that were really popular with locals, that showcased a great variety of flavors and traditional heritage foods of Singapore! By the end of the tour, we were stuffed!

We also stop for traditional Singaporean coffee, Mr. Bas shared with us and explained how to order the various options in Singapore so we could handle it on our own with no problems. Highly recommended this small group food experience!

Superb foodie tour - cannot miss!

If you are a foodie - this is a tour to remember. If you want to immerse yourself in Chinatown and its cuisine - This is it!!!

Angel as our guide and resident expert was absolutely superb.
Passionate, knowledgeable and most of all very willing to guide and share his passion and knowledge. And the food - oh, the food!! Amazing, so subtle and so simple - but so palate exploding.

We were (My wife and I) excited of course - but so pleasantly surprised with the dishes we sampled. Carrot Cake, white and black, Hokkein Mee, Fish ball soup, Popiah and the absolutely delectable Michelin Star Chicken Rice/Noodles. It was all stunning and as an aspiring cook - I intend to learn to make some of these.
'Rounding out this experience was the Hainanese Chicken Rice - which in my book is a strong contender for my favourite. And the chicken broth that accompanied this is a classic and can stand absolutely in its own.

I would highly recommend this tour!!! Hands down was an absolute bucket list item for a foodie. Great job my Monster Day Tours and Angel!!!

Wonderful food & facts

We totally enjoyed our tour, and recommend it. The tour was so much more than food. Jamie was so enthusiastic, passionate, & knowledgable about her home/food/culture/history/ & future, & we're so grateful for this foodie experience.

By the end of the tour, we tried so many foods, & felt confident to go out on our own to eat at other times. We also ate at Hawker Chan's air-conditioned restaurant, and then went to the original hawker centre when his wife was running the stall on our day. No regrets*(^_^)*

A must book if you want to experience great food & real insights!

My wife and I were visiting Singapore on our honeymoon and I am so glad I booked this tour.

Our tour guide James was amazing. We were lucky enough to be the only couple on the tour so I got to ask lots of questions and Bas's knowledge was unbelievable.  He took us to multiple food joints where we tried so many local delicacies. I’m still so full hours after!

The thing that makes this tour great is it’s not just about the food spots. James also took us to so many historic spots around Chinatown and not to mention the iconic Buddhist temple where we learned so much about the history of Singapore and Buddhism.

I felt it was real value for money and couldn’t believe how much we got out of just a 3.5hr tour. I would highly recommend booking this tour.

Thanks to James and Monster Day Tours!

A perfect foot tour through Chinatown and it's Gastro delights!

We were led on a great tour through Chinatown by our very capable guide Leo. We began with an education regarding Singaporean coffee and how to order the various varieties. As we enjoyed our coffees, we were also treated to Kaya toast and pandan sponge cake.

We continued on our tour through China Town learning about the history and wandering through the market place as well. We had Michelin Star Chicken Rice and numerous other "bites" as we worked our way along. Our final treat was a unique ice cream sandwich made with a slice of cake folded around a slice of ice cream. Leo then walked us to the subway and educated each of us how to take the appropriate subway to our specific hotels. So, we even got to sample the Singapore's wonderful subway system!!!
