Top 3 Shopping Destination in Little India (Singapore)

October 20, 2017

Little India in Singapore is a fun place to explore. Be it shopping or eating out, there are more options at hand than your free day tour can possibly accommodate. If you are keen on a comprehensive retail therapy here in Singapore, these are some of the hot spots to explore.

1. Mustafa Centre

The Mustafa Centre scores over most other shopping malls because it remains open round the clock. You can actually checkout the shops even at 3am! Besides, the shops here stock most American brands. So, if you are brand conscious, this is the place to head to. The prices aren’t exactly the cheapest here, so you may wish to give a second thought before buying. It is indeed a massive place, full of interesting and varied options.

2. The Tekka Centre

If you are more of the price conscious kind, a trip to The Tekka Centre must feature in your free day tour plan. You must explore the hawker stalls and the numerous stalls selling cheap clothes. You can pick up good quality materials and fabrics for stitching. You can also pick up fresh fruits and vegetables at bulk prices. Tekka Centre is also a great place to grab a quick bite. There are dozens of Chinese, Malaysian, Indian and Singaporean stalls churning out tasty delicacies all throughout the day, on the second floor.

3. Sungei Road Thieves Market

This one is a shopping experience of a different kind. The stalls along Sungei Street are like the ones you have in flea markets. Back in the day, stolen goods were sold here. Now all the goods are properly regulated and legitimate. If you are a bargain hunter and an antique enthusiast, this place is certainly for you. And it is a welcome change from air conditioned mega malls.

The options available for shopping are way too many. It is wise to list out a few options and check them out.
