Cruises are an experience we are all familiar with, whether we have embarked on one ourselves or not. With international travel on hold, cruises to nowhere have become the new trend, but not everyone is on board with the idea.
For those looking for a more wallet-friendly option, more options have been popping up recently. From day trips to a private sailing experience, there are countless experiences available in Singapore. If you’re looking for a new experience in Singapore, here are 4 unique cruises to try out in Singapore!
1. The Southern Islands Discovery Sunset Sail ($)
Most of us might have heard of the Southern Islands, but how much do we actually know about them?
Monster Day Tours has recently launched a new experience, the first public guided tour of the collection of islets that make up what we know as the South Islands! The experience promises not only gorgeous sunset views, but you’ll get to learn more about Singapore from a guide as you tuck into a delicious bento dinner.
The 2-hour experience sets off from Marina South Pier, where guests will board a specially charted ferry adorned with fairy lights. Apart from the usual dining with a view experience, what sets apart this dinner cruise is that it includes a guide on board, who will keep guests enthralled with stories about the Southern Islands.
A collaboration between Monster Day Tours and Marina South Ferries, this dining experience cum tour promises a night of fun. Guests will get to enjoy not only the gorgeous sunset views of islands such as Sentosa and St John’s Island, but they’ll get to listen to legends and forgotten stories firsthand from expert guides.

Nothing beats a relaxing evening sail, especially after a long day of work. For those looking for a quiet trip with friends or family, look no further than Wanderlust Adventures.
Specialising in custom yacht experiences, Wanderlust Adventures offers a variety of different packages for guests to choose from. One of the more popular packages is the Sunset Dinner Cruise, which allows guests to spend up to 4 hours on board a private yacht.
To make the experience more memorable, the package includes rental of fishing equipment, which means you’ll get the chance to catch your own dinner! For those who haven’t been fishing before, fret not as there will be an instructor on hand to provide guidance, and whatever you catch will be cleaned and prepared as part of the bonus dish.
The Sunset Dinner Cruise package also includes rental of the yacht with a captain and crew, as well as a complimentary bottle of wine and dinner for 2 onboard or on Lazarus Island, depending on weather conditions. Corkages fees are also waived for beverages you bring, meaning you and your friends can drink to your heart’s content.
While the package is catered for 2 persons, you can opt to bring up to 6 pax at an additional cost per person. For more details, please refer to their website.
Availability: Daily, with 3 sessions available for booking (Morning, Afternoon & Evening)

3. Kayak Fishing Tour by Fever ($$)

For those of us who have tried kayaking, it might bring back memories of school camps, where kayaking was part of the outdoor activities we might’ve taken part in. While kayaking might still be a popular activity, not many of us may have tried kayak fishing!
Kayak fishing is one of the more unique tour experiences in Singapore and is organised by Fever, who offers a variety of different fishing tours across various difficulty levels. For beginners, the “Playground” route is recommended and is perfect for anyone new to kayaking or kayak fishing.
Unlike usual kayaks which require a paddle, the kayaks used for fishing are leg powered, allowing you to fish as you embark on the tour. Each tour lasts about 4 hours, and the “Playground” route lets guests fish over natural sea structure for bottom fishes such as snappers and groupers as they cover 2-4KM of distance.
Do note that while guests are allowed to catch as many fish as they’d like, Fever supports catch and release to ensure the sustainability of the reefs. All tour guides are first-aid and life-saver certified, and tours are conducted in English. For more details on the various routes, please refer to their website.
