Orchard Road Restaurants: 9 Places for Lunch & Dinner

Choosing a restaurant on Orchard Road is easier once you decide what kind of meal you want. A quick lunch between shops calls for something quite different from a dinner you've booked a month ahead. And while the malls seem close together on a map, a restaurant at Tanglin isn't necessarily a convenient stop when you're already hungry in Somerset.

These nine places cover brunch, Chinese sharing dishes, chicken rice, French comfort food and a proper sit-down celebration. We've included where to find each one and the situations in which it makes sense to go. Restaurant details were checked in October 2026; use the linked menus for current prices, opening times and reservations.

This is mainly a restaurant list. For a cheaper everyday meal, compare the food courts around the malls before committing to a full-service restaurant. A café lunch, hotel restaurant and tasting menu can sit in very different price brackets even when they're on the same street.

1. Wild Honey for breakfast at your own pace

Wild Honey suits the morning when everyone wakes up at a different time and nobody wants to race to a breakfast buffet. Its all-day breakfast menu takes inspiration from several countries, with egg dishes, pancakes and options for different diets.

The Norwegian and European breakfasts are established choices. If you're ordering for someone vegetarian or avoiding dairy, look at the dish descriptions rather than assuming a breakfast can simply be adjusted. Tell the restaurant about allergies before you arrive.

Find it at Mandarin Gallery, 333A Orchard Road, unit 03-01/02, near Somerset MRT. The windows make it a pleasant place to pause above the street, especially when the midday heat makes another stretch of pavement less appealing. Check Wild Honey's menu and hours.

2. Chatterbox when you want chicken rice with table service

Chatterbox is a useful choice for visitors who want a recognisable Singapore dish in an air-conditioned restaurant. Its Mandarin chicken rice is the reason many people come, rather than a long list of unfamiliar dishes to work through.

You're paying for a hotel restaurant setting and service as well as the meal. If your priority is tasting chicken rice at hawker prices, plan a separate visit to Maxwell Food Centre. Both experiences have a place in a trip, but they serve different budgets.

Chatterbox is at Hilton Singapore Orchard, 333 Orchard Road, unit 05-03. Check the restaurant's own website for the current menu and booking details. Allow time for a sit-down meal rather than treating it as a takeaway stop before a train.

3. Summer Hill for a meal to share

Summer Hill brings French comfort food to Claymore Connect. Think of it as somewhere to sit over several dishes together, rather than somewhere to order a separate three-course meal for each person and hurry on.

Check what is on the menu that day before deciding your order. Rich mains are easier to balance with vegetables and something lighter, and sharing lets a small group try more without over-ordering. Weekend meal formats and special menus can differ from a weekday lunch.

The restaurant is at 442 Orchard Road, Claymore Connect, unit 02-17, at the western end of the shopping belt. The mall's current listing provides contact details and links to the restaurant. Book if this meal is the main reason for coming to this end of Orchard.

4. Hua Ting for Cantonese food with family

Hua Ting at Orchard Hotel is a good fit for a family lunch or dinner where sharing dishes is part of the plan. The restaurant focuses on Cantonese cooking, including roast meats and dim sum.

Lunch is the time to investigate dim sum; don't assume the same selection will be available at dinner. For a larger group, ask about portion sizes and whether any dishes need advance ordering. It saves the awkward moment when a small table of two orders something intended for a banquet.

Hua Ting is on Level 2 of Orchard Hotel, 442 Orchard Road. It shares an address with the Claymore Connect area, but has its own restaurant entrance and booking arrangements. Use the official Hua Ting page for menus and reservations.

5. Taste Paradise if you're already shopping at ION

Taste Paradise is the convenient Cantonese option in this list if you're spending the day around Orchard MRT and ION Orchard. It works for a longer lunch, a family gathering or dinner after shopping without travelling to another hotel.

Start by deciding whether you want dim sum, roast dishes or a larger sharing meal. Then order around the size of your group. Premium seafood and special dishes can change the bill quickly, so check the menu before choosing simply from photographs.

Find Taste Paradise at 2 Orchard Turn, ION Orchard, unit 04-07. The Paradise Group locator confirms the branch and provides booking information. Reserve for a busy weekend or a meal with several people.

6. Shisen Hanten for a dinner worth planning around

Shisen Hanten serves Chūka Szechwan Ryori, a Japanese interpretation of Sichuan cuisine. Its mapo tofu is a useful place to start if you're curious about how fermented bean paste, chilli and Sichuan pepper work together.

This is a restaurant to book and dress for. The official dress code excludes shorts and flip-flops, which matters if you've spent the afternoon shopping in beachwear. Discuss spice tolerance with the staff rather than assuming everything on a Sichuan menu has the same heat.

The restaurant is on Level 35 of Hilton Singapore Orchard, 333 Orchard Road. Older guides may call the hotel Mandarin Orchard. Use the current hotel name when planning your route, and consult Shisen Hanten's website for lunch, dinner and weekend service details.

7. Lawry's for prime rib and a slower dinner

Lawry's is the choice here for someone who has already decided on prime rib. The table service and traditional steakhouse atmosphere make it more of an occasion than a quick stop between malls.

Choose the cut and portion before adding sides. Sharing starters can leave more room for the main, and it's worth looking at the full menu if anyone in the group doesn't eat beef. For a celebration, tell the restaurant what you're planning when you book.

Lawry's is at Mandarin Gallery, 333A Orchard Road, unit 04-01/31. Its contact page lists current hours and reservation details. This is a different building from Hilton Singapore Orchard next door, despite the similar addresses.

8. Café Quenino for a shared meal near Tanglin

Café Quenino at Artyzen Singapore offers a contemporary take on local and regional sharing dishes. It suits a group that would rather put several plates in the middle of the table than follow a tasting menu.

The hotel's current dining page describes a choice of three, five or seven sharing plates for lunch and dinner. Use that as a starting point, then check the actual dishes and supplements. Breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks run as separate services.

The hotel is at 9 Cuscaden Road, off the main Orchard shopping stretch. This is Café Quenino at Artyzen, so don't follow older references placing Quenino by Victor Liong in ION Orchard. See the current Artyzen dining page before booking.

9. Cédric Grolet for pastries rather than a full dinner

Cédric Grolet at COMO Orchard is the sweet stop in this list. Come for the pastry counter, a planned tea break or a reservation that makes dessert part of the afternoon.

The fruit- and flower-inspired creations are quite different from a casual bakery bun. Check the current selection, portion sizes and prices before ordering several for the table. A specific pastry you saw online may be seasonal or unavailable by the time you arrive.

Find it at COMO Orchard, 30 Bideford Road, a short detour off Orchard Road. Use the official Singapore page for the latest offering and reservation link. If you're after traditional sweets on another day, our Singapore desserts guide covers a different side of the city.

A few things to check before you book

Orchard MRT is handy for ION and the western part of the shopping belt. Somerset is usually more convenient for Mandarin Gallery and Hilton Singapore Orchard. Check the exact building and floor: several restaurants here share similar street numbers but have different entrances.

For the bill, check whether prices include service charge and tax. A set lunch can be worth comparing with à la carte ordering, but promotions have their own dates and conditions. We haven't presented old menu prices as current offers.

For dietary needs, contact the specific restaurant. Vegetarian choices don't automatically make a venue suitable for a severe allergy, and a Chinese or Western restaurant shouldn't be assumed halal-certified.

Make room for a hawker meal on another day

Orchard gives you plenty of restaurant choices. To understand more of Singapore's everyday food culture, spend another meal in a hawker centre. Our Michelin and Local Hawker Food Tour explores Chinatown's food scene with a guide and several tastings over about 3.5 hours.

It's a separate experience from the Orchard restaurants above. Check the itinerary and dietary information before booking; it follows a set food route and isn't a custom restaurant reservation service.

Questions about eating on Orchard Road

Where can I have a casual lunch near Somerset?

Wild Honey at Mandarin Gallery is an option for all-day breakfast. Chatterbox at neighbouring Hilton Singapore Orchard suits a sit-down chicken rice meal. Compare menus first, as both are restaurant-priced meals.

Which restaurants suit a family meal?

Hua Ting, Taste Paradise, Summer Hill and Café Quenino all offer food that can be ordered for the table. Tell the restaurant your group size and any dietary needs when booking.

Do I need a reservation?

Book for a special dinner, a weekend meal or a larger group. For spontaneous visits, check the current queue or availability rather than relying on a guide to predict a quiet time.
